Transitioning Your Wardrobe for Fall
As August rolls into September each year, without fail most men will start thinking about refreshing their closet - and with good reason! Shortened days and cooler weather are the perfect time to transition from a summer to a fall wardrobe.
Neutral Colors
Beige, ivory, grey and earthier brown tones are the key to every fall wardrobe. These warm colors allow the versatility of matching with other darker fall colors like navy, burgundy, olive and darker shades of orange.
Neutrals are also incredibly easy to layer. A beige Henley, for instance, will go with just about anything you can put on top of it - olive chore coat, brown blazer, grey shirt jacket, on and on. The possibilities are incredibly expansive with a neutral base.
Outerwear
With the crisp fall weather comes one of the best aspects of any man’s wardrobe: outerwear.
A light-but-practical outer layer should work well for both indoor and outdoor wear. Chore coats, shirt jackets and unstructured blazers are all excellent options to keep you warm in the cool fall air, but you' won’t feel forced to shed that layer when you’re in the office, out at a restaurant, or wherever else.
Earthy colors are ideal for fall outerwear - brown, olive, slate grey are all excellent choices. Keeping some contrast between layers will best suit your fall look. A neutral beige or white under a darker chore coat will be a great all-purpose work-or-play option.
