Executive Shirting

Executive Shirting

We’re thrilled to announce our new line of Executive Shirting. These shirts are made from fine, two-ply cotton fabrics with a higher thread count, which gives them a silky soft hand-feel and a beautiful drape.

The look and texture of these shirts alone is enough to set them apart. But to fully appreciate them, it helps to have a clear idea of just what exactly two-ply cotton is, and why a higher thread count makes for a better fabric.

The “ply” of a fabric refers to the number of yarns used to make each thread. In the case of a two-ply fabric, two yarns are twisted together to make a single thread. This means that the resulting fabric is not only stronger, but finer as well.

The thread count of a fabric refers to the number of hanks in a pound of yarn. A “hank” is a piece of yarn that has been coiled around itself—essentially, the more hanks a pound of yarn contains, the higher its thread count. A higher thread count gives the fabric a soft, smooth texture and a silky-sheen. The fabrics used to make our Executive Shirting range from the 100s to the 140s.

Another way our Executive Shirting stands out is its sourcing. We order the fabrics directly from European mills that rely on traditional methods. Every shirt is cut-to-order, which means that turnaround time may be increased by 2-3 days. You’ll find that’s a small time to wait for the best-feeling, best-fitting shirt in your closet.
