Client Q&A: Eric
Welcome to Client Q&A, where we quiz real-life wearers of Blank Label on clothing, what draws them to custom, and whatever else might pop into our heads.
We recently spoke with Eric, a VP of corporate development at a critical communications company in Massachusetts.
Q: Why Custom?
A: One day at work I noticed how fresh and fitted a friend’s shirt looked on him. He looked classy, hip, and timeless in that custom shirt. To contrast, that same day I was sporting a nicely made but slightly baggy dress shirt from a well-known men’s clothing brand. The moment sparked an epiphany. I learned my friend’s shirt was custom made at Blank Label. And as they say, the rest is history.
Q: What do you do outside the office?
A: I’m into food and love sharing any type of food-related experience with others. This translates into cooking dishes I’ve never made before on the weekends (cutting no corners), shared group dinners at interesting restaurants, participating in a Condiments Club, and other random food-based activities such as checking out a farmer’s market or getting lost in H-Mart for hours.
Q: What are you most excited for this summer?
A: I decided that Boston's summer weather is not hot and humid enough, so I’m heading to Vietnam and Korea during the hottest time of the year. I look forward to eating Vietnamese cuisine at its source.
Q: If you could wear a linen suit anywhere, where would it be?
A linen suit should be the defacto suit of choice for a wedding celebration if the wedding is located in a hot part of the world (such as India) or on a beach. The last time I wore a linen suit was two years ago on a hot summer evening in beautiful Biot, France, for one of my best friend’s wedding. Perfect.
Q: What was your favorite song when you were 16?
A: Growing up, I predominately listened to rap, rock, and trance. But in 1999, pop music reigned supreme! My favorite song would be a triple threat match between “I Want It That Way” by The Backstreet Boys, “Genie in a Bottle” by Christina Aguilera, and “Slide” by the Goo Goo Dolls.
Q: What else should we know about you?
A: My nickname is Boon and I hope to compose a rap song one day soon
