Five Ways to Wear Your Linen Suit

The Summer Work Suit

Though their stylistic reputation is that of a relatively casual suit, linen can be an excellent summer alternative to the wool business suit.

Keeping your suit colors muted (i.e., tan, grey or navy) and incorporating a tie will help keep the entire ensemble looking more conservative and professional.

The Blazer

The linen blazer is an easy pairing for jeans, chinos or even lighter wool suit trousers. Shades of brown and tan are excellent options, as they’ll contrast best with denim (as well as various different shades of blue and grey chinos).

The casual nature of the linen blazer allows for a wide variety of undershirts, from the plain white t-shirt all the way to a collared dress shirt. “In-between” shirt styles like polos will also work well here.

The Wedding Attendee

Brighten up your summer wedding suit palette with more colorful linen options like sky blue or offbeat earthy tones like russet brown. These colors will apart from the typical navy and grey wool suits you’ll see among other guests, allowing you to stand out while still maintaining that all-important sense of wedding-appropriate formality.

 The Night Out

For casual occasions where you still want to stand apart from the crowd, a linen suit provides ample opportunity. Over an open-collared shirt with jacket sleeves rolled, this suit becomes a chic statement piece that won’t leave you feeling overdressed for the occasion.

Just the Trousers

Linen trousers are a fantastic alternative when shorts seem too casual for a particular venue or occasion, but you’d still like to remain as cool as possible.

Separating the trousers from your linen suit is easy: a simple white shirt or polo will compliment the casual seasonal look. We recommend a tucked white linen shirt as a fantastic pairing to any shade of linen trouser.
