Your Wedding Week Checklist

So you’ve got your wedding suit fitted and ready to go - mission accomplished, right? Time to kick back and wait for the big day to arrive.

Soon the reality kicks in: What do I wear for the rehearsal dinner? What about my honeymoon? As sharp as your day-of suit or tux is, it won’t have you covered for all the fun, semi-formal events before and after your big day. Fortunately, though, we do have you covered.

Rehearsal Dinner

Most rehearsal dinners tend to be semi-formal affairs with fun, slightly-more-casual-than-the-wedding cocktail attire.

A well curated blazer-trouser combination is typically the best bet for this occasion. A perfect summer wedding rehearsal dinner blazer will ideally have a pop of color and have some pattern or dimension, which can be as simple as a worsted blue or grey weave or as bold as a windowpane or houndstooth pattern.

A light navy or steel blue blazer paired with grey trousers is a classic choice for this setting, dressing you for the occasion and also giving you the flexibility to choose from a wide variety of shirt options tailored to your personality; classic white for a traditional look, patterned blue for more contemporary cool.

Honeymoon

Every honeymoon is unique to each couple, and so to should your honeymoon wardrobe reflect both your own personal style as well as your choice of destination.

Some common honeymoon themes tend to be warmer climates, exotic locations and (of course!) beaches. For these more tropical honeymoons, linen is an indispensable option both for its style and function. The lightness and breathability keeps you substantially cooler than the cotton or wool alternatives. A linen shirt is perfect for a sunset stroll on the beach, while a linen blazer is an excellent option for a romantic dinner in both elegant and more casual settings.

Light colors make some of the best linens - a versatile light grey or light navy will pair with any number of white, tan, or darker navy trousers. The ubiquitous white linen shirt is a crucial part of any tropical getaway, too, worn on its own or layered under a lightweight linen blazer.
