Our Favorite Summer Suits

Some time around April you start to get that feeling - that distinct sense that the dark navy and grey suits that carried you through the fall, winter and spring aren’t going to cut it for your summer events.

With summer now in full swing, there’s a number options that are our go-to’s for being suited up in the sun.

Brown Hopsack

Hopsack is a light, breathable, wide-stitched basket weave that is a perfect look and feel for warmer weather.

Brown hopsack wool

Worn as a full suit, hopsack allows you to stay relatively cool while looking dressy enough for most (non-black-tie) summer weddings or events.

The texture of the hopsack also makes it work exceptionally well as separates. Pair a blue or brown hopsack with jeans or chinos and you have a sharp-but-casual summer look.

Light Blue Windowpane

Like the hopsack, the wide-stitched texture of this fabric along with its subtle windowpane pattern allow it to be worn as a blazer separate just as easily.

Paired with navy chinos or khaki dress trousers, this jacket has a wonderful pop of light blue that will make you a stand-out amidst a sea of navy and grey suits.

Light Grey Wool

There’s no summer look more classic than the light grey wool suit.

Easily the most beach-wedding-appropriate of the summer suits, light grey wool comes in many varieties: solid worsted wool for a versatile slightly textured look, windowpane for a more refined style or the slightly more adventurous Glen plaid

Light grey is a neutral tone that pairs well with all kinds of colorful summer ties and pocket squares. Brown shoes will give a more modern look, while black shoes can give your suit an air of formality for dressier occasions.
