Five Easy Ways to Wear Long-Sleeve Polos
We’re big fans of long-sleeve polos. In fact, we think they’re underrated. In an effort to change that, we’re going to outline four easy ways that you can incorporate long-sleeve polos into your work, home, or work-from-home routines below.
Untucked with denim
Wearing a long-sleeve polo shirt untucked with denim is simply the fall-friendly iteration of a favorite summer look. While it’s weekend-ready, the formality of the collar makes it a great choice to pop on before Zoom calls during the week.
Untucked or tucked-in with chinos
Short-sleeve polos are a natural match with chinos, and long-sleeve polos are no different. You may be surprised by how great an effect simply tucking or untucking the shirt can make on the rest of the outfit: leave it untucked if you’re off-the-clock or working virtually, or tuck it in for a look that’s instant business casual but a little less-effort than wearing a button-up.
Tucked-in with trousers
As we’ve established, long-sleeve polos are inherently more casual (and easier to care for) than dress shirts. But when tucked into a dress trouser with a higher rise, they can look sharp and dressed-up. To up the formality level, consider a dark polo like grey, navy, or black.
With sportcoats
Consider this an upgrade of the previous look. Once you’ve paired dark wool trousers to a long-sleeve polo, finish it off with a sportcoat for a dressed-up but never stuffy look that works for business casual or a dinner out. Because our polos are solid and a tie isn’t in the picture, you can experiment with a bit more pattern: a glen-plaid or check works especially well here.
With suits
Finally, long-sleeve polos are adept at dressing down suits. Long-sleeve polos finish the look by virtue of their collar and long sleeves but remain more casual, turning your sharpest business suit into something you can wear to a relaxed weekend lunch.
