The Other Pattern: Circle Weave Shirts

It’s easy to place shirts into two categories and two mindsets: solid and patterned, formal and casual. But not every shirt fits so easily into either camp. For just one example, look towards circle weave shirts.

What are circle weave shirts?
In this case, the name is pretty self-explanatory. From even a short distance, a circle weave shirt will appear solid in color—for instance, a grey, blue, or pink—but closer inspection reveals that a small-scale circle pattern has been woven into the fabric. While subtle, this circle adds a touch of pattern and texture, providing a pop of extra interest.

How to wear circle weave shirts.
The advantage of a circle weave shirt is that it’s a patterned shirt that still appears solid at all but the closest distances. For that reason, you can pair it the same way you would a solid-colored shirt, with anything from a classic navy suit to a moss green linen suit.

Yet that up-close difference allows it to be a little more interesting than your go-to blue buttondown. For that reason, it’ll add a little extra life to the most basic of workweek or weekend looks with khakis or denim.
